In Italy, LDPE waste (such as polybags) is handled under the national packaging waste system managed by Corepla, the Consortium for Plastic Packaging Recovery.
Key rules
LDPE film, bags, and polybags are accepted for recycling if clean and empty, but only through separate collection (raccolta differenziata) – not in the yellow container (which is for light packaging like metal/plastic bottles).
Check your municipality's rules (regolamento comunale), as collection varies by area: many regions have plastic film collection points or store drop‑offs for soft plastics like LDPE.
Do not mix with paper/cardboard, glass, or organics; if no local collection, it goes to residual waste (indifferenziato).
Suggested disposal label (matching your icon style)
“IT: Raccolta plastica morbida (film LDPE) dove disponibile. Verifica con il tuo comune.”
(Translation: "IT: Soft plastic collection (LDPE film) where available. Check with your municipality.")
This follows Corepla guidelines and Legislative Decree 152/2006 on waste management.
